19세기부터 쓰여졌으며 요즘에도 흔히 쓰는 속담입니다.

줄여서 ‘The grass is always greener’라고 많이 씁니다.

직역하면 ‘다른 쪽에 있는 잔디가 항상 더 푸르다’는 뜻으로

내가 가진 것보다 남의 것이 더 좋아 보인다는 비유적 표현입니다.

우리말 속담 ‘남의 떡이 더 커 보인다’랑 같은 의미입니다.

남의 떡이 더 커 보이는 거야. 그걸 더 빨리 깨닫고 남과
