New information surrounding the Seo Tai-ji-E Ji-ah scandal has been found to contradict the official statement released by E’s agency.

According to the divorce papers filed in 2006, actress E had waived all of her rights for spousal support from singer Seo. Also, the Santa Monica Family Court had sentenced for the divorce to be in effect on Aug. 9, 2006.

This is different from the earlier statement made by the actress who said that she had “independently filed for divorce in 2006, which started to take effect in 2009.”

The family court ruled that it terminates its jurisdiction to award spousal support to the petitioner, E, according to the divorce papers obtained exclusively by the U.S. branch of the Hankook Ilbo newspaper, in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The sentencing also states that E had filed for divorce on Jan. 23, 2006 with the court finalizing it, without any trial hearings, on June 12. In accordance with the divorce laws of California, their separation took legal effect on Aug. 9.

All of this seems to fully back up Seo’s counter-arguments that they “were officially divorced in 2006 and had settled on alimony and division of assets in that same year.”

Also on the divorce papers, E wrote that her marriage to the 1990s Korean cultural icon had ended de facto on Feb. 21, 2004 and that they had no children. ‘Irreconcilable differences’ was named as the main reason for the divorce.
